“Tuning” Your Performance Engine

“Tuning” generally refers to modifying or having specific performance modifications done to a car to improve its performance and handling for the owner’s particular driving style.  Often times increasing power and performance as well as handling and aerodynamics results in a modified vehicle that may or may not ever see the racetrack.

Increasing the output and response of an engine can require remanufacturing an engine by boring a larger cylinder diameter, optimizing the valve timing, raising the compression ratio, using forced induction by adding a turbocharger or supercharger, using multiple or larger carburetors or fuel injectors.  You can also modify the exhaust system and intake system using hood scoops and high-efficiency air filters as well as using a larger diameter exhaust manifold and low back pressure mufflers.

Modifying the suspension is another way of “tuning” using modified springs, shock absorbers and sway bars decreasing roll during cornering and improving the grip of tires resulting in improved handling and response.  Increasing the energy output of your engine can necessitate suspension modifications to handle the torque and response time of a modified performance engine.

Rebuilt Engines Store loves to modify an engine block for performance orientated vehicles.  Rebuilt engines store believes that using “blueprinting” and exact tolerances to reduce friction and increase power is the way to get the best performance out of an engine.  They would be happy to modify cylinder diameter, valves, compression ratio and any other engine modification you feel would increase your engine power and performance.

When you purchase a Rebuilt Engines Store remanufactured engine you will be purchasing an engine that has been remanufactured to outperform the original manufacturer's crate engine.  Because of our craftsman and their unbelievable 1.7% warranty claim rate we have now begun to offer with every engine rebuild an unbelievable 10-year/100,000 mile warranty, so you know that we believe in the craftsmanship of our remanufactured/rebuilt engines.  So whether you're going to be “tuning” on your vehicle, or just want an engine that will outlast and outperform the manufacturers engine purchasing a remanufactured/rebuilt engine from Rebuilt Engines Store craftsman is the way to go.
