OK. So you have an older Mirage. And it's time to sell. What do you do? You can go low-tech: You can make a sign, park your Mirage in a popular driving area, and see what happens. All of us of sold vehicle this way. It's fun. But it is also work. You might have to move your Mirage often during the day, you have to make the signs, and you have to make sure you are parked in an area where people will see your vehicle.
Why not let the internet help you? When you sign up for an internet ad, you will get a lot of coverage because not only will your local paper run it but your ad may also be picked up by other internet carriers. Internet ads allow you to run a lot of pictures of your Mirage and as much text description as you want at no extra charge. (Try running pictures in an ordinary ad - it will cost you a small fortune.)
Once you get some inquires about your Mirage, you get to take on the role of a used car salesman. But that's not a bad thing. You can show your customers all the special features of your Mirage and have them test drive it. Then you can give them the "grand tour" by lifting up the hood and showing them the engine compartment, the trunk area and the interior.
If you have an extended warranty, remind your potential customers that they can take advantage of this warranty by transferring it for only a small fee.
But before you do any of this, make sure you have performed any repairs that your Mirage requires. You do not want to be embarrassed by noisy brakes or a bad muffler. Also make sure the car is as clean as you can possibly make it. Clean the exterior and polish it, clean the wheels and the tires, polishing them also, and clean all of the glass and mirrors. Inside, clean the dashboard, the steering wheel, inside the glove compartment, the ashtrays (if any), and then vacuum the upholstery and the carpet. Clean the inside glass and mirrors, too. And don't forget to vacuum the trunk area. If you want, you can get the engine compartment degreased so that this area is clean and grime-free.
